Vietjoによると、海外からの観光客の受け入れについては10-12月からの再開を目指し、東北アジアと東南アジアを重点市場として戦略を練るとしている。ワクチンがなく海外の感染が当分終息しない可能性があり、12月でも厳しいかもしれない。

5月11日現在のベトナムでの感染者288人のうち249人が回復し、治療中の感染者は39人となった。海外からの入国者を除く国内での新規感染者は25日間続けていない。感染者のうち海外からの入国者が148人となっている。

ベトナムでは新規感染者が長期間いないためホーチミンではカラオケとディスコを除きマッサージや映画館、バー、ビアクラブ、インターネットカフェなどの営業再開が許可された。学校だけでなく濃厚接触になる業種が再開されても新規の感染者がいなければベトナム国内での感染は本当に終息したことになる。
